Enhancing scientific discoveries through open data in Africa

Wednesday, June 26, 2024

We aim to enhance scientific discoveries through open data collaboration and open access.

The Science for Africa Foundation (SFA Foundation) launched Open Research Africa (ORA), a peer-reviewed publishing platform that offers transparent, rapid communications for varied research outputs. It is powered by F1000, a leading publisher in open science.

Our joint mission is to share quality research from Africa with the world and enable rapid sharing, discovery, use and reuse of African research to the benefit of all. We aim to enhance scientific discoveries through open data collaboration and open access. Academic publishers and funding agencies increasingly encourage researchers to share the data which underlies their research findings.

There is evidence that when openly available datasets are reused by other researchers, further research can be generated. A greater impact can be achieved, breaking boundaries and making information freely available, to the advantage of the authors, the scientific community, and the public.

We take great pleasure in extending to you an invitation to our upcoming webinar, titled “Enhancing Scientific Discoveries through Open Data in Africa” in collaboration with F1000 scheduled for:
