Strengthening the Contraceptive R&D Ecosystem in Africa: Accelerating Innovations in Non-Hormonal Contraception for Women


This RFP seeks innovations that contribute to the development of safe and effective non-hormonal contraceptives that meet the needs and interests of women and that address key barriers in accessing and using currently available methods. We are seeking non-hormonal contraceptives that are easy to access, discreet, convenient, and non-invasive.

The POSSIBLE- Africa Fellowship Programme is a 24-month early postdoctoral (graduated within the last 5-10 years) fellowship opportunity for outstanding African scholars in the Social Sciences & Humanities, who propose research that aims to create evidence to inform sustainable development within the African continent. POSSIBLE- Africa is a programme of the Science for Africa Foundation (SFA Foundation) that is being implemented with funding support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York.

African Agriculture Climate Adaptation Research System Request for Proposals


In this RFP, Grand Challenges Africa would be interested in supporting efforts to strengthen the process and system-level aspects of this virtuous cycle. We believe that sustained organised investments into the African continent focused not only on the science innovator but also on the gaps within the science innovation ecosystem (e.g., research centres, government, private sector, funders, etc.) will deliver irreversible gains for translational sciences and are necessary for strengthening climate adaptive capacity.
